Yosemite Valley, Merced River Corridor
The winter of 2004/2005 brought significantly more moisture to Yosemite than average. The drainages throughout the park were swollen with runoff well into the summer, contributing to numerous swiftwater incidents in the park, including fatalities. These photos are from several rescues and recovery operations from the busy summer 2005 season.
